The charcoal used in these drawings were taken directly from a fallen tree whist walking through the burned forest in Canada.
The wildfire situation in Canada remains critical. Fires happen all year round, mostly in May through to September, but hold-over fires can smoulder throughout winter.
More than 44 million acres of land were burned by wildfires in Canada in 2023.
